Reopening Update
We will be reopening for Summer Camps on Monday, July 6th!
Dear KSG Families,
Great News! As many of you have probably heard, the Alberta Government has reclassified sport, recreation and fitness into Phase 2 of the Alberta relaunch plan. Check out this article from the Calgary Herald, this radio interview from 770 CHQR or this feature on CTV News to hear Kyle’s thoughts on this update.
Guidelines and Feedback
We have been combing through the guidance documents (if you’d like, you can read the docs specific to our facility here, here and here) and we are eager and excited to reopen soon.
We aim to finalize and share our detailed reopening plan next week for your review. Please let us know if you have any specific concerns or feedback you’d like addressed in our plan by sending us an email to info@ksgymnastics.com.
Reopening Date
Although we have received permission to resume operations effective Friday, June 12th, we have decided to delay our reopening until Monday, July 6th to coincide with our Summer Camp programming schedule. This will give us plenty of time to get the gym ready, order supplies and to ensure we have created the safest possible environment for all of our gymnasts and team members.
Key Areas of Focus
Two key areas we have been focusing on are:
1. CONFIDENCE
2. EXCEEDING EXPECTATIONS
We know that the past few months have been uncertain and challenging for everyone. We want to ensure that our reopening is done responsibly, proactively and with the utmost of care. We definitely know there is a lot riding on this and we don’t want to have to close the gym again (ever ever again!!)!
The details matter and we are committed to creating an experience that gives our KSG families full confidence and trust in us. We want to exceed all of the expectations set out in the guidelines and we want you to know that we have done our very best to mitigate the risks. It’s extremely important to us that our procedures and protocols set the gold standard. This is our commitment to you and your families.
Programming
During the month of July, we will only offer full day and half day weekly Summer Camps for ages 4-12. This will help us meet contact tracing, physical distancing and cleaning requirements outlined in the guidance documents.
We will not initially offer any summer evening mini sessions, drop in sessions, kids night out camps or Birthday parties, but we will explore the possibility of offering additional programming as we ease back into our reopening strategy. Please keep your eyes open for further communication on this – we appreciate your patience and support as we navigate through this new landscape together.
We are very excited to welcome everyone back to the gym soon. Until then, stay safe!
