Experience the magic of gymnastics for the very first time!

This 30 minute introductory class is designed with our littlest gym babies in mind. GymBabies is all about sensory stimulation, fundamental movement and social development. We don’t expect participants to perform back flips just yet! This is a great class to make some new friends and become familiar with our facility.

Classes begin with a musical warm up and interactive stretches that involve lots of tickles, giggles and snuggles. Next, we’ll explore different apparatus around the gym including trampoline, mini beams, mini bars, foam pit and floor exercise with a variety of colourful props and toys to enhance the experience. Each week contains a new weekly themed adventure and caregivers will be actively involved in each class.

GymKids One is a 40 minute class that uses music, games and play to create a fun filled learning environment with a caregiver there to help! This program offers important opportunities to develop fine and gross motor skills while exploring all of the different ways a body can move. Students will explore fundamental movement patterns on all of our gymnastic equipment, including our mini “Just For Kids” apparatus. These movements include jumping, hanging, climbing, balancing and supporting. This class also introduces social skills such as listening, sharing, taking turns and developing friendships.

During classes, participants will move through weekly themed circuits on all of our gymnastics equipment, including our mini “Just For Kids” apparatus and will be introduced to the gymnastics fundamentals such as rolls, hangs, supports, swings, springs, locomotions and balances. Participants will burn off some of that extra energy while running, jumping, bouncing, tumbling and climbing in a safe, fun and challenging environment.

Development of fine and gross motor skills will play a role in each lesson and special attention will be placed on improving important social skills such as listening, sharing, taking turns and lining up. GymKids Three (Ages 3+ | Unparented | PLEASE NOTE THAT SOME PARENT ASSISTANCE MAY BE REQUESTED)

Age: 3 Years + and ready for an independent experience.
Class Length: 45 minutes
Instructor/Participant Ratio: 1:6
Special Notes: In some circumstances, caregivers may be requested to assist their child in class. If your family is new to gymnastics and your child is between the ages of 3 – 3.5, we highly recommend a GymKids Two class first for a more positive experience.
Next Step: When your little gymnast turns four, they are eligible for GymKids Four!

Over the years, we’ve come to realize that coaching a large group of three year olds can sometimes feel like herding kittens. Our aim with GymKids Three is to help our 3-4 year old students thrive in an independent gymnastics environment. We do this by offering a lower participant to coach ratio which helps create a more focused class setting and allows for more individualized attention.

Each 45 minute class begins with an interactive group warm up activity, often set to music. This is followed by various circuits around the gym on all of our gymnastic equipment, including our “Just For Kids” sized gymnastic apparatus. Students will work on attaining target skills such as forward rolls on a cheese mat, unassisted beam walks, mini cartwheels, mini handstands, assisted supports on the bars and controlled bouncing and safety stops on trampoline. Students will also work on improving their balance, hand eye coordination, agility and flexibility.

Another important focus of our GymKids Three program is developing essential “good citizen skills”, which include listening to and following simple directions, learning to trust a teacher, waiting in line for turns and staying with a group.

GymKids Four (Ages 4+ | Unparented)

Age: 4 Years +
Class Length: 50 minutes
Instructor/Participant Ratio: 1:8
Next Step: When your little gymnast turns five, they are eligible for GymKids Five or Junior GYM360.

GymKids Four participants are beginning to really step out of their comfort zones! This 50 minute structured class sees students blossom as they learn the fundamentals of gymnastics on all of the gymnastic equipment, including our “Just For Kids” sized gymnastic apparatus. Basic skills and essential gymnastic body positions become familiar as students run, jump, hang, swing, balance, tumble and climb through challenging and fun weekly theme-oriented circuits. Classes begin with an active warm up often set to music and end with a high five!

This class promotes the development of physical abilities, self-confidence, listening skills and socialization. Not only is it an action packed good time, it also inspires an excellent environment for a strong physical and mental foundation to grow. If your child is four and requires some additional support, we recommend starting in a GymKids Three program until they are ready for more!

GymKids Five (Ages 5+ | Unparented)

Age: 5 years +
Class Length: 50 minutes
Instructor/Participant Ratio: 1:8
Next Step: Junior Gym360 (Ages 5-6) or Beginner Gym360 (Age 6+)

This is the final step in our GymKids preschool gymnastics program and is geared towards participants who are five years old! Each 50 minute class begins with an active warm up, often set to music, and is followed by 3-4 weekly themed circuits on the gymnastic equipment.

GymKids Five is all about the fundamentals with a focus on learning more complex skills. A strong emphasis is placed on form and technique and this helps students build confidence. As they run, jump, hang, swing, balance, tumble and climb through a variety of challenges, they will develop a strong foundation for an active and healthy life!

Our GymKids Five program also incorporates character development components each week. As we teach them about safety, respect, pride and effort, we aim to prepare them for a successful transition into elementary school. Don’t be surprised if your child talks about their learnings and achievements the entire ride home.

Junior GYM360 (Ages 5-6)

Age: 5-6 Years
Class Length: 1.5 hours/Evening and Weekend; 1 hour/Friday Daytime
Instructor/Participant Ratio: 1:8
Next Step: Beginner or Intermediate Gym360, based on coach recommendation

This co-ed class is an excellent introduction into the Gym360 stream of programming and is an excellent option for youngsters who are ready for a longer class and want to begin their Gym360 Level 1 skills testing.

Participants will maneuver through multiple circuits on the gymnastic apparatus while learning the basic body positions, drills and elements required for Gym360 Level 1. During classes, testing will be ongoing and students may move into our regular Gym360 programs after they celebrate their sixth birthday!
