November 27 Update
Temporary Closure extended to December 15
To our valued KSG families,
Thank you for your patience as we’ve taken the time to navigate through the enhanced public health measures announced on Tuesday, November 24. Since the announcement, we have been speaking with AHS and various other stakeholders to get clarity on the impacts the new health measures will have on our facility and the entire gymnastics community in Alberta.
At this point, gymnastics facilities are only permitted to offer self-led individual training or one-on-one lessons with up to a maximum of 25% of the fire code capacity. Unfortunately, this is not a viable option for our facility. We did apply for an exemption based on our strong Covid-19 safety protocols, participant demographics, contact tracing system and our history of no known exposure since our reopening in July, but we have learned that exemptions are only being considered for those in the professional sports industry.
Therefore, in accordance with the most recent public health order, our temporary closure has been extended until at least December 15 and we must cancel all programming until that date.
We wanted to extend our appreciation to the many of you who have reached out to express your support and understanding during this challenging time. We are confident we did everything within our control to create a safe environment for our staff and families, but sometimes, no matter how much we advocate, these decisions are out of our control and we must accept them and move forward.
As per our temporary Covid-19 facility closure policy, a non-refundable credit will be placed on your account in the coming days for all affected programming. We thank you for your understanding and continued support.
For those registered in the full Fall session, our coaches are completing report cards and certificates and these will be available for curbside pick-up or we can hold on to them for distribution during the start of the Winter 2021 session. We will send an email with clearer instructions when they are ready.
During this uncertain time, we continue to remind ourselves that this is temporary and although it can sometimes feel that way, it will not last forever. We are extremely proud of the way things were running and we want to extend our sincerest thanks to our team, our participants and all of our amazing families for their trust and cooperation.
We want to assure you that we are fully committed to a safe reopening when permitted to do so and we look forward to welcoming you and your families back to the gym soon. Our current plan is to run our Winter Break Day Camps starting on December 21 and then commence our Winter 2021 session as planned on January 4. We will provide more updates as they become available.
Until then, please take care of yourselves and one another. We are here to help if you have any questions, comments or concerns.
