RESTRICTIONS EXEMPTION PROGRAM
September 16, 2021
To our KSG community,
Yesterday, the Alberta Government announced a new optional ‘Restrictions Exemption Program’ (REP) in which participating businesses can continue to operate as usual with minimal restrictions. Learn more here: https://www.alberta.ca/covid-19-public-health-actions.aspx
Kyle Shewfelt Gymnastics will be actively participating in the REP program effective Monday, September 20. At this time, anyone over the age of 12 must show proof of vaccination, a negative Covid-19 test result or a medical exemption letter in order to be permitted entry into our facility.
This pandemic has been extremely challenging for our small business and so many others. This is a necessary step we must take in order to sustain our business operations, keep our team employed and create the safest possible environment for our children and community.
We understand this decision may not align with the values of some families. If this is your circumstance, we are happy to cancel your registration and provide a refund for the remainder of September classes and your membership. All cancellation requests must be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org before September 20.
Please keep in mind that our team’s primary focus is on running a safe and efficient gymnastics operation. We are not trained in vaccination verification procedures and we appreciate your kindness and cooperation as we try to navigate this together. We want to keep it as simple and respectful as possible so our facility can continue to offer gymnastics programming for many years to come.
Please find more details about the REP requirements outlined below:
Proof of vaccination:
For those 12 years and older, please have proof of vaccination ready to show at the door. We’ll accept whatever documentation you have until a more formal verification option is readily available. We will be checking for verification each day as we do not currently have the capacity to implement a formal tracking system.
According to the REP guidelines, proof of a single vaccine dose is considered acceptable between September 20 and October 25, as long as the dose was received more than 2 weeks before the date of entry. Double doses will be required after October 25.
Proof of a negative test:
If you are unvaccinated, please have your negative test result ready to show at the door. The government guidelines indicate that tests must be privately-paid Covid-19 PCR or rapid tests completed within 72 hours and tests must not be from Alberta Health Services or Alberta Precision Laboratories.
If you are unvaccinated, but have a medical exemption letter, please have your documentation ready to show at the door.
Please continue wearing masks into the facility and when not participating in classes. Our staff will continue to wear masks in the gym, except when demonstrating and explaining stations.
Viewing and Distancing:
Our viewing lounge remains open. By participating in the REP, we are not required to implement distancing measures. If your child is 5 years+ and does not require your assistance, we ask that you drop them off and wait in your vehicle if at all possible.
Please stay home if you are sick. As per our policies, we reserve the right to ask sick participants to leave the facility with no refund or credit.
We appreciate your understanding and continued support.
